I saw em' in reverse order, starting with the admittedly horrible part III, so by the time I got the original, I was shitting a brick! The orginal may be just a car chase movie, but it's a GREAT car chase movie

Apparently, Burt was never supposed to be in SATBIII, he'd sworn off any more Bandit films after the second, I've heard the original film was supposed to be just Jackie Gleason chasing an unseen person in a Black T/A, but test audiences gave it the chuck, so they threw Jerry Reed in at the last second
