#1, I wouldn't go that far. There were crossovers (re: high-riding cars with hatches but not quite an SUV) before the PT became an item.
Did it contribute to the retro-infection that simply won't go away for good? Yep. Was it wildly popular? As popular as seeing one with a continental wheel - yes. Was it the harbinger of the crossover? No. |

I am on the fence. I remember when these were new, and I even tried to convince both parents to get one. I like the pre-facelift ones, and I would definitely rock a turbo one. :) That said, I do have a love-hate relationship with Chrysler products. We had terrible luck with Chryslers in general, but they're a staple of my childhood, having grown up in a town where the only dealer to continually get new cars on time was the Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge dealer :) |
