I wonder if any of these still exist anywhere.

#1, Someone somewhere is holding onto it because a part of them wants to restore it and drive it because they were born too late to enjoy muscle cars.

Another someone somewhere is holding onto theirs because they believe the 'classic car market' for 38 year old cars is red hot - and their Starfire is potentially worth hundreds of thousands; a perfect bookend to their working career in residential carpet sales warehouse forklift operator.

Another another someone somewhere is looking at their Starfire in a poorly insulated garage parked behind the snowblower - an old ride on mower - a loose tier of firewood - and a disused ping pong table. But it's still immensely important because a deceased relative willed it to them and to continue owning it underscores the narrative of "wanting to honor their memory".

The few Starfires that remain all tell a different (schadenfreude) story.

#2, And someone somewhere has a 1985 Pontiac 6000 STE he's held onto for 10 years in a garage because he wants to restore it and drive it and preserve it but he is an idiot who doesn't even know where to begin. And the car itself is worthless even in mint running condition and its value is purely sentimental.

...Am I the only one here who's gone through only 3 cars in 12 years of driving and still has all of them?
