And this car is exactly why I dismiss everyone who thinks reverting to 'named' cars will magically undo decades of sliding into irrelevance for both Cadillac and Lincoln, the usher in a new era, and turn them into overnight sales success.

People lean way - WAY - WAY too much on the cars' name and not enough on the quality of its design - its engineering - and its appropriateness for the market. If the car is shit (or in this case out of step with the market and the ever-shrinking demand for large FWD sedans) - it doesn't matter what it's called.

Every time someone said "Lincoln is back!" said it with blinders on. Also - every time someone said "watch out S-class" said it just before they had molten gold being poured down their throats.

Yes - I know about the Aviator and the Nautilus - but nobody was rooting for the success of those nearly as much as they did for the Continental.

This is probably the closest thing to a worthwhile car Lincoln has made so far this century. FWD is disappointing, but still....

But hey, it made it into a Forza 7 DLC pack.

All the Continentals I see are livery cabs or driven by old people. Though it was refreshing seeing people under 80 showing interest in it at last year's auto show. I sat in one at the auto show and it was a very nice, premium feeling interior. I can't help wondering if modern premium soft-touch interior parts are going to fail faster than the "cheap" plastics of older cars.
