It's funny, Avalanches were very popular for a little while. Yet any time I see them being referenced now, it's always by people remembering how lame and useless they were.

#1, I always thought they were a neat variation of the Silverado.

The guy that owns a local repair garage, the one I patronize most often, has personally driven nothing but Avalanches for the past 15 years. He's on his fourth one.

Says a lot about how bad truck styling has gotten that I used to think they were ugly and ungainly...

#3, I covered it in a previous post, but I really think the current Ford F-150s are actually pretty nice-looking. They cleaned up the design a fair bit. The Rams are not bad... and the GMs... yeeeesh.

...and don't get me started one whatever the FUCK is happening over in Tundraland.

#2, Last month, one of the new high speed trains hit an Avalanche, and I initially feared it was my mechanic. Thankfully, it wasn't.

However, it was one of his old Avalanches. He had sold it to one of his employees. My mechanic had told the guy not to let his girlfriend drive it, as he'd seen her drive recklessly in the past. Welp, she was driving, drove around the gate, and they got clobbered. She survived, the guy didn't. My mechanic was a bit devastated, and is still trying to find someone to replace him, along with a second mechanic who quit when the workload got heavy as a result of being down one man.

Seems she didn't make it either, if this is the same incident you related.
