the GNX wasn't a musclecar (a V6 musclecar? I think not), but it was similar in design and concept. They're pretty cool...I'd like to swap the innards of a Grand National into a stock-looking Regal (complete with wire wheels and velour bench seat). That would be a lot of fun.
Not a muscle car?, i want what ur smoking. mid 13's bone stock, can hit the 11's for under a grand. That sounds like muscle to me.
And there are turbo limited regals, complete with the column shfter, plush seats, and granny cornering lamps.

[edit] Oh yeah, and you'll be hard pressed to see ANYONE other than fat, old, white men driving them. They'll yell until the death of themselves defending those things like they're the end all and be all of cars, more so than even camEro owners.
Must be something in the water down South.[/edit]
Ok, are u really that blind?, or just like hitting the keyboard, watching the nice letters appear on the screen?, fat, white, old ppl, lol as opposed to 15 year old, skinny wannabe lameasses, with theyre pants down to theyre ankles?, must be a ricer thing....

There is no difference internally between the 3.8 liter SFI Grand National engine and the GNX engine. Initially, there were plans to perform standard performance tricks like blueprint the motor assembly, but tests proved that wasn't necessary to achieve the goal., also the gnx came with an adjustable wastegate, which the original gn didnt. and a dual exhaust, and some other minor stuff. so b4 u start spouting off shit u know nothing about, i would get ur facts straight

The 200r4 was strong(er), but that was (once again) only on the GNX's which there were only ~500 +/- 40 (I'm kinda fuzzy on the exact numbers) and which also cost a lot more. The not "x'ed" GN's had a much more troublesome tranny that plagued them, which caused the upgrades for the GNX, which was the last year of the turbo. It's too bad, really, as there could've been a lot more done if they put that engine in a much more sporting chassis/transmission. Possibly a Corvette configuration?
What in the world are you talking about, the gns and the gnx's used the same 200r4, as far as the monte-ss it was a 200 but much weaker. if you try and put a tranny from a monte-ss in a GN it would last 10 minutes. And as to your comment as alot more could of been done, hows low 12's-11's with less than 1500.00 spent?, go try that with any ricer, or mustang for that matter :). All GNX's started out a GN's, ASC/McLaren got ahold of them and added a ceramic impellar to the turbo, a more-efficient IC |
