I wouldn't put an intercooler that big on a rally car. This is obviously a drag impreza. My guess is that they either tow it home in a trailer or remove that massive FMIC and put the front bumper back on. Subaru has always mounted their intercoolers on top of the engine (right under that little hood scoop) to avoid inevitable stone damage during off-road excursions. However if you're building a lightweight AWD drag car, I can think of few better candidates than a turbo impreza. Of course you'll need to put a bigger turbo & intercooler on.. just like in the picture above. Sweet f'ing rims, too.

that's just a standard impreza 2.5 RS (north american non-turbo good-looking slowcar)or POSSIBLY a real base-model WRX. There's nothing externally aftermarket on that subaru.

It's not a rally car, it's not a touring car.. it must be rice!!

well, as much as i hate ford probes, it's good to see some ricers putting spoilers over the drive wheels. However I'm pretty sure that Ralli Art (pictured on the hood wing) makes parts for Mitsubishi. I could be wrong or misinformed, but that's what Gran Turismo told me. Also I'll bet someone a dollar that once you get that car past 100mph, those mirrors will rip off. So will all those lights.

i'm gonna just sort of step in here and talk about the car in the picture.. i think it's pretty good-looking and i'm a big fan of the m3, especially the brand new ones. However, I'll paraphrase Automobile Magazine and say that with a motor like the m3's, you're better off with a hardtop. I wouldn't want to cruise at 140 with the top down.. and if i wasn't planning on cruising at 140, i wouldn't buy an m3. see the logic here? but it's still a downright beautiful machine.

amen to that. all the struts (heh, leafsprings, maybe?), bushings, etc. are likely shot on a car that old unless it's been very meticuliously (spelling?) maintained..

I suppose all it needs is some modern suspension tuning and it'd be plenty fun to take through turns.. My only problem with muscle is that for the most part it's only good for a straight line. That's fine and good if a drag race is all you're looking for, but I like to be able to trust my car in a turn.

well if you've got all that power, you'd better be able to run from the cops with it!
