OK Riceboys, this is what a real engine mod list looks like - stuff that actually makes the engine produce more horsepower and torque.
I really, really, wish I had one of these cars. |

except for "line bored mains"...I'd hope that every good engine has their main bearing bores line bored... |

well if you've got all that power, you'd better be able to run from the cops with it! |

Exactly. It could be built to handle in races, but that obviously wasn't the intention. |

I suppose all it needs is some modern suspension tuning and it'd be plenty fun to take through turns.. My only problem with muscle is that for the most part it's only good for a straight line. That's fine and good if a drag race is all you're looking for, but I like to be able to trust my car in a turn. |

amen to that. all the struts (heh, leafsprings, maybe?), bushings, etc. are likely shot on a car that old unless it's been very meticuliously (spelling?) maintained.. |

Most smallblock musclecars handled well from the factory. |

Towards the late 70's, most of the muscle that remained got really good handling upgrades, the Trans Ams were equipped with the WS6 (or was it 9?) suspention for improved handling, and most people who have an old one like this do fiddle with the suspension, put in better bushings, traction bars, coil overs instead of leafs, etc. |

I don't like correcting people, but Skid said that most smallblock musclecars handled well from the factory. Really, they handled good FOR THEIR DAY, but are pretty lousy compared to more modern cars. leaf springs and live rear axles don't make for good handling. |

No matter how crappy handling it's got, it still is sooooo sweet. |
