I still think the non-Ram Air Trans Am of this generation/facelift is one of the most handsome cars of its era.

#42, I didn't like it at first, (Stark contrast to the flying wedge aesthetic it replaced) but it's aged pretty well as other "swoopy" cars came along and did it worse. Even the pig-nosed Formulas eventually begrudgingly got a pass from me. Also, for some strange reason, the lines on these are highly-susceptible to being ruined by a bad rim choice, don't know why.

#43, I believe I know why. Low-slung cars accentuate the wheels. Newer cars, being taller and slabsided, draw attention away from the wheels... they also require wheels to be HUGJ to look proportionate.

20" wheels look FAR larger on this kind of car than they do on a modern compact crossover... and if the design is gaudy/flashy, it's just all the more noticeable.
