Since this starting to be a pretty informative thread,

Also from generator:
Pocket Bunny Ryakaa
Candy Samurai Shirocham
Grazed Munkie Nutz Sharichiaku

ok, the last one I made up.

Now, what about Tenjho Tenge now on FuseTV? What is that about?

Nooooooooooooo :(

Geneon Entertainment will cease distribution of all DVDs in early November, and are already in the process of limiting sales of DVDs to retailers. ...and I'm in the middle of collection Karin and Hellsing Ultimate

Geneon tried working out a deal where ADV would take over all their licenses/DVD distribution, but that fell through a few days ago, so effectively, TONS of Anime series are now either having their American releases cancelled or going out of print.

This really sucks. For a list of all of Geneon's licenses... http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/enc...any.php?id=1782

#122, No need no Tenchi, I guess.
I'm sure someone will pick it up. 1/3 of the movies listed didn't seem like the best in the world e.g., the bad DBZ movies, sailor moon, etc.

EDIT: I just looked at the list again. I take back my 1/3 comment. This is unfortunate.

I should note that not all of those series were released on DVD by Geneon, but most of them were.

The ones not released on DVD by Geneon, like Azumanga Daioh and His and Her Circumstances, are unaffected.

Dark times for U.S. otakus.

I'll copy and paste what I did over on the Forums... in regards to this situation...

Also, there's another thing... I sometimes "look down" on some Anime licensors for various reasons...

Funimation because it continually milks the DragonBall license, Viz because of a similar situation with Naruto... Media Blasters and RightStuf because they both release a LOT of hentai... and ADV because it keeps on releasing one new "new and improved" set of Evangelion after another*...

...but really, I shouldn't look down on them. Those various things are what makes those companies HUGE amounts of money, and keep them afloat, giving them the ability to release low-volume, obscure series without going bankrupt like Geneon basically did.

#126, That was Geneon's problem... they hadn't had a BIG NAME Anime licensed in a few years, other than Samurai Champloo, and Hellsing Ultimate (but actually, Hellsing Ultimate hasn't sold well in America)

...what Geneon HAD been doing lately was licensing obscure series that only otakus were interested in... not mainstream... and because those series don't sell in huge numbers, they really aren't profitable.

#126, Media Blasters and RightStuf because they both release a LOT of hentai

*Rapidly steps backwards. Jaw drops.*

DiRF....is complaining....about hentai?

#128, I actually don't like hentai Anime... I've stated that a few times. Yes, I like hentai manga, but the hentai Anime is too graphic for my tastes... doesn't leave anything to the imagination.

#43, Well, after all this time, I *finally* got around to watching that series again... finished it up...and I have to say, it was fantastic. A lot of people say they have to watch it a couple or more times to understand it, but I think I pretty much understand the series alright... at least, the way they *I* want to understand it.

#129, I watched a Hentai anime with my girlfriend (at the time) about three weeks ago. It was Nurse *something*

We were laughing our asses off when one girl took another girl to large bath area saying with a bad voice over
"The bathtub is full of cum. The shampoo, toothpaste, everything is made out of cum" Then they climed into the tub. "Here, drink this".

It's manga, not anime, but still... in the coming weeks, I am going to embark on a journey into one of the most popular manga/anime series ever...

*phew... heaven't updated what I've watched in a while... but then, I haven't seen much new anime lately, 'cause of the semester winding down... notable that I've watched...

Cromartie High School I'm 1/4 through it, it's whacked out. Seriously. But very entertaining.

Fruits Basket 1/2 through it... I like it a lot, and I gotta get back to it, 'cause I'm really interested in where the story is going.

Paprika Satoshi Kon's fourth movie... it was very good, with a few things that I found to be annoying, but otherwise I enjoyed it.

The Girl Who Leapt Through Time My God. I didn't know anything about this movie, other than a short clip of it that was used in AMV Hell 4... it was brilliant, and at one point had me sobbing tears... it was rather epic, IMO.

Metropolis Osamu Tezuka. Katsuhiro Otomo. With those names you'd think it'd be fantastic. It was merely good. It went for an epic look, but didn't have an epic feel.

Afro-ken A weird show supposedly aimed at kids. It was... well, I already said it, it was weird. Even for an Anime.

Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan 2 Continuation of the series. Slightly different animation style, it's an OVA this time around, rather than a broadcast TV series... it seems to have more blood, more gore, and more fanservice. I'll keep watching though. It's like a train wreck. With body parts flying everywhere.

God damn... Dokuro-chan 2 seems to become more and more blatantly pornographic with each new episode o_0

Speaking of anime, I'm now 11 episodes into Initial D....Takumi outdrifting the jerks in the S13s in Itsuki's AE85 "Hachi-Go" was freaking hilarious.

It's an enjoyable series, although the production values in First Stage are, well, pretty weak by today's standards.

I've noticed that....the computer animation of the cars isn't bad, but the modeling is kind of weak.

My biggest problem with the show, though, it's how far it's drawn out. They spend three episodes preparing for one race, and the race is generally stretched over two episodes (so they can end with a cliff hanger, I guess).

Overall, I prefer the racing action and cars from Wangan Midnight, but I like Initial D for it's cartoonish humor (plus there are more episodes currently, which makes it a little more accessible).
