Originally intended to be a de-contented Chrysler New Yorker, perhaps carrying the Newport name, it was instead sold as an "upmarket" trim level of the Dodge Diplomat, wearing Chrysler styling, but with a crossbar on the Chrysler waterfall grill to "mimic" the Dodge design ever so slightly. |
