They were an homage to Enzo's dearly departed son, Dino. Enzo never wanted these badged as Ferraris, he wanted them to be a separate line. But Ferrari afficianados don't seem to give a rat's ass about Enzo's wishes, as they continually call them "Ferrari Dinos", and some even put Ferrari emblems on them after the fact >_< [/General "Ferrari" Dino rant] Now, from what I understand, there WAS a "Ferrari Dino", but that came AFTER this generation of cars.
