Yay Anime! ^_^ I think I'm addicted.

Not pictured: My 8-disc Trigun set, my Neon Genesis Evangelion 6-disc boxset, and End of Evangelion DVD.

I would go out on a limb and say he feels the pictured shows and the ones mentioned in the description are worth watching. You pick up some of the language when watching stuff in that language. I picked up bakayaro from some unknown source years ago.

Yeah, I've picked up sempai, baka, arigato gozai mashita... simple stuff like that.

The ones in this picture are pretty good, with the exception of Magical Play... Magical Play is...odd. It has it moments, but overall, it can be seen why it was cancelled after the fourth episode.

The ones not available for the picture, Trigun and Neon Genesis Evangelion are absolutely AMAZING series... so emotionally packed and well-written. NGE starts out as a giant fighting robot anime, but it just evolves into such an excellent psychological drama.

#19, I've only used Amazon once... and I can't imagine myself wanting to use overnight shipping again... that one time was a special case... next time, if I wanna buy myself something for my birthday, I'll plan ahead :P

#23, The real selling point of prime is the free two day shipping, which is a pretty sweet deal.

#24, Now THAT sounds cool.

I'll keep that in mind if I ever decide to go on an Amazon shopping spree :P

Well, End of Evangelion showed up today, an actual real release, not a bootleg *phew*...

Watched it again, and DAMN, still as powerful as the first time... but with this watching, it actually seemed like a happier ending than I originally thought... still fucked up though.

...and I've been getting a few soundtrack songs to various series... such great music, but some of the songs make me well-up, because of the emotional connotations that I have with the songs...

Well, now I have a series set of Chobits... haven't gotten to it yet as I'm getting through The Slayers series set... that series is unbelievably funny XD

...I'm also waiting on Outlaw Star series DVD set... I also found a place to supposedly get a REAL region 1 disc of Gunsmith Cats for a good price. I ordered it, we'll see if it's a real disc and not an import or bootleg... if it is real, I'll probably just give away the "import" disc I have now to whoever wants it... it'd be perfect for anyone who would want to watch it in English, as the Japanese track is really rough, and is missing some lines of English subtitles. ...the English track, however, is good quality.

Chobits. Wow. It started out so funny and slapstick, but it just became so serious. So dramatic. So much emotion. ...and how the series ends... I haven't cried that much over a series since Neon Genesis Evangelion.

The auction for the GSC DVD was removed by eBay, after I had already paid... it still hasn't shown up... the seller has contacted me and assured me I will receive, but it's been over a week now.

...and Outlaw Star. Very entertaining. Has very well done humor, and the animation is top-notch. But it just seems so formulaic and contrived... it has so many different plot elements that I have now seen done in other Anime series, and done much better. I've gotten up through episode 9. I know I'll enjoy watching the rest of the series, I just hope I'll get to see some plot or event situation in the show I haven't seen done before in other series.

GSC showed up...it's an actual ADV release... good shit.

...and I've been watching through Chobits again... WOW I love that series... the characters are so heartfelt, and the interactions and everything... even the supporting and minor characters are so fleshed out and deep.

Oh, and about Outlaw Star... my initial impression was a bit early... the second half of the series, it really picks up and comes into its own, going in a unique direction. Very cool.

TIME FOR AN UPDATE that nobody cares about... actually, too much to update with much detail...

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya: Loved it. A pretty good mind-trip, especially since the episodes are meant to be watched out-of-chronological-order. (The first episode to be watched is actually the 11th episode, the last one to be watched is actually the sixth)
Bokusastu Tenshi Dokuro-chan: Loved it, insane, bloody, grotesque, slapstick, hilarious, cute.
School Rumble: Liked it. Lost the Fansubs of it that I had downloaded though (torrent program glitch)... I'm not gonna redownload it... I'll just wait for the Funimation official DVD releases, which are coming early 2007.
Initial D: Absolutely loved it. Fourth stage wasn't quite as good as the previous stages though, IMO, but still quite good... can't wait for Fifth stage, though, that's probably at least 2 years off, and will probably air over 2 or more years... quite a while to wait..

New Fist of the North Star: First FotNS Anime I've seen... piqued my interest in watching some of the older ones in the series... very VERY bloody, graphic, and violent... but damn, by the end, the story is just so damn good... I almost cried.
Oh, I just realized I didn't talk about Battle Angel... one of the first DVDs I bought... it's only 2 episodes, but those two are damn good... the animation of the series was cancelled after those 2, so I'm thinking of picking up the manga to see where the story went from there.
...and I just started watching Love Hina... I adore it... it really has a lot of heart, great releationships between the characters, and great characters in general.

...and of course, recently viewed FLCL, which I would consider a must see, as it's only 6 episodes, but damn did they cram one fantastic Anime into that small amount of episodes... the DVDs of the series are really fucking expensive though... (I...err...uh, managed to watch the series without buying any DVDs... )

...and one series that I've borrowed from a friend, Slayers/Slayers NEXT is just fantastic... it's pretty much a slapstick/parody style Anime, but they managed to work some great plotlines and stories into it... the third in the series, Slayers TRY, my friend won't let me borrow, as she doesn't want me to finish that series before she does :P

But I'm actually getting to watch it on a slow basis, thanks to Anime on Demand (they add one or two episodes every one or two weeks... I'm up to episode 8 on it now)... but in an English dub *ugh*

Super GALS! - Holy crap that show was a nice surprise... comedy, action, heart, relationships, fast-paced music, rampant silliness... I love it.

Right...well, I just finished Excel Saga... holy shit, Episode 26 is entitled "Going Too Far" and GOD DAMN do they mean it!!! ("I'm really a G-cup!" was particularly disturbing...) Episode 26 was quite shocking not only for its content, but because it followed the only two episodes of the series that actually have a serious tone to them with very little gags...

The end of episode 26 has got to be, on some level, a parody of End of Evangelion... covering the whole world in blood, making the whole planet red and whatnot... that's basically what happened in EoE, since the planet's surface basically got flooded with LCL, which is Lilith's blood...

#22, to be fair, I knew what "baka" meant long ago, due to the allies after WWII mockingly calling some of the more elaborate Japanese suicide weapons "Baka bombs", the whole point of the 'going too far' episode of Excel Saga was deliberate, so that it would never see air in Japan as it violates nearly every rule of the broadcast code (if you time it, it's also one minute longer than the allowed normal time)

...Golden Boy... riiiiiiiiiight... wow... I think I need to be in the right mood to watch that... it's some wacky shit. I managed to get through the first half of the first episode... it is pretty funny though.

...and amazingly enough, there's a character that speaks English at one point, and it's actually UNDERSTANDABLE English... :P

...oh, and it should probably be mentioned, Golden Boy is a borderline Hentai series... I've never much been a fan of animated Hentai (too graphic for my tastes, I prefer manga hentai)... but I think I can manage.

Hmmm... neat site... http://listerx.com/browse.asp?SR=7634&FL=100040560 http://listerx.com/browse.asp?SR=7634&FL=100040561 I can keep track of Anime that I have and whatnot... Second list is only Anime that I've either rented, borrrowed from a friend, or watched at a friend's house...

The one thing lacking on Listerx, I can't list Anime I've seen via torrent, becuase it hasn't been released on DVD yet (shows like Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan, School Rumble, etc...)

...oh, and you'll see I have two Initial D Tokyopop releases in my "Rented/Watched" section... yes indeedy, I rented a special two-for-one version of Initial D from Blockbuster, and that's what got me addicted to the series... watched the rest via fansubs though, because Tokyopop really fucked up the translation in many areas.

Damn... it appears ListerX is no longer working... :(

...anywho, wrapped up both Golden Boy and I My Me! Strawberry Eggs...

Golden Boy was wonderfully amazing... seriously. ...and it really doesn't contain THAT much hentai-esque stuff... other than a nipple shot here and there... no more than other OVAs... except for episode 5... *SPOILER* which shows a woman masturbating and orgasming with a motorcycle...uhm... twice. ...and that's about it.

Strawberry Eggs... I'd say it's a good series... not outstanding, but entertaining.
