I think I'll always love that Garmin Super Bowl commercial that used a Panhard from this era... and it had a damn catchy, original song...

...though, it *did* play off the historical myth that Napoleon was short... (he was 5'6", which, for that era, was NOT short for a man... unfortunately, Washington and George III were unusually tall, so, by comparison as a world leader, he *seemed* short.)

#1, I remember the song more than the car.... couldn't make the connection until now.

And the "Short Napoleon" myth was also a conscientious effort on the part of the British Press to play up his actually non-shortness for parody. Since a lot of that material survived longer than the man, it entered the public consciousness that he must've been really short..... since all these period pieces show him that way....

One thing I can NOT seem to find is an old commercial for the Suzuki Boulevard line of motorcycles that had a really neat song... had the lyrics of "as I ride on down the boulevard" or something to that effect... again, a song that sounds like it could have been a chart-ranked pop song, but was created specifically for a commercial...
