Is it just me, or was there a HUGE marketing blitz for Year One (most notably in 2F2F)... and then after a few years that branding just kinda... vanished from mainstream consciousness?

#4, yes, and yes. I remember their catalogs were mailed to a lot of my friends who worked at shops, too. I don't even know if they're still around. (Year One, I mean)
