Dodge Ram Charger

Talk about something that's gone quietly extinct, there are more IH Scout II's around here than these.. and that's saying something.

Still pretty common here. I had the pleasure of driving one (an '84, I think) about 10 years ago. Nice rig.

The picture description rings true here too. I haven't seen one in quite a while. I saw a Scout today, though.

Ten years ago, when I was at my McJob, I couple of regulars had Ram Chargers... but, yeah, haven't seen any in quite a few years, now.

Did these have significant rust issues?

I still see old K5s, and Broncos of this vintage, as well as the slighty-more common pickup, but never the Ramcharger and its pickup counterpart.

#4, Sorta...about the same as a lot of Chrysler products from the 1970s/1980s, but they weren't Chevy Vega/Scout II/Mazda Protege bad, either.

#5, Odd. I still see examples of those three around here, but no Ramchargers. Were the mechanically unreliable, then?

#6, Pickups and large SUVs are something the domestics never really slipped on, in terms of reliability and durability, even in the dark days of the '70s... well, maybe the plastic-timing gear on the GM 454 was a pretty lousy idea...

But, that 318 drivetrain is pretty damn near bulletproof, even if the entire truck around it disintegrates into a fine brown dust.
