I don't get it either, but 9 out of 10 "worst" car compilations put it in there, calling it a "wannabe factory hotrod" it's like the underlying concept was really, really really NOT appreciated, for some reason. |

Honestly, I think it was the "hate" for Chryslers of this era, combined with the hatred of the autostick transmission that did them in. |

#3, I get the impression that most of those lists are curated by people who've only read other lists. Most of the time they can't even tell you what exactly is wrong with the car, other than "Corvair HURR Ralph Nader" and "Pacer looked funny." |

#5, A lot of those lists are just mish-mashes of others without much research. The worst I ever saw was one written by an eco-weenie that had several cars that were one-off concepts that never went into production, or exotics that you've probably never seen in person but were skewered for being "decadence on wheels" or having "atrocious mileage" , and, they put the Model T on there too, because every war in the 20th/21st century was for oil, and if it weren't for the Model T, we wouldn't NEED that!!! SOmehow, I get the feeling if that author had a sudden heart attack, he'd be screaming for a diesel powered F-350 ambulance to come for him, instead of waiting for the horse and cart......... |
