#2, 1957 was an odd year for Chrysler... they knew that the Feds allowing quad headlights was coming down the pike, but not in time for the *start* of the '57 model year... so they simply designed half their line (Imperials, Chryslers, upper-trim DeSotos) to accommodate both two and four headlights, and when they were allowed the quads, they started installing them on the production line immediately...
