Description:
Well, my dad's search for the wrecked Pacifica's replacement has come to a close.

2018 Nissan Murano Platinum. White with beige/creme interior, the same color combo as the outgoing Chrysler.

Years ago, my dad had looked at a Murano and was impressed... he was only considering a Pathfinder because he originally had trouble justifying getting a replacement "smaller" than the Pacifica... but the measurement differences between the Chrysler and Murano are almost negligible.

He test drove a Murano and Pathfinder back-to-back, and found the Murano to provide more driver comfort. He even tried to test drive an Armada, but the driver's seat was quite a few inches higher; getting in would be a struggle.

Even though this car left the factory less than two months ago (according to the build plate), the dealer was desperate to get rid of MY18 cars. Out the door price was $8k less than MSRP.

Oh my GOD... the seats in this car are so unbelievably comfortable... even the headrest is so plush, I enjoyed just burying the back of my head in it... the ride is pretty smooth, and this thing has almost ALL the modern tech... it's loaded... the only exception would be any kind of semi-autonomous driving mode.

#2, I said it doesn't have any kind of semi-autonomous driving mode, but my dad can't stop raving about how amazing the radar/laser/whatever-aided cruise control is, up to and including, stopping the car completely, and then automatically going again when traffic ahead goes.

With his current health concerns causing him severe pains in his back and legs, being able to do stop-and-go traffic with essentially only having to hold on to the steering wheel is a huge benefit.

I cannot overstate how nice this car is to drive. The advanced cruise control is such a pleasure to use... I drove a Kia Sorento loaner shortly after getting my CX-3 (it needed a cosmetic defect fixed)... and despite the Murano being roughly the same size, the Murano feels SOOOOO much smaller and easier to drive than the Sorento.

#5, At the time of my father's death, my stepmom had a Subaru Forester that was... alright. But she took possession of this car, and [I assume] sold the Forester or gave it to one of her kids.

Unfortunately, her health has been failing for years, so I don't believe she drives it very much, if at all.

[edit] Near as I can tell, this, my BMW, and the red Pacifica at my dad's old place here in Florida, were the only three cars from his estate that weren't liquidated. Fucking idiotic estate attorney that fucked everything up.

#7, My sister desperately wanted the '57 DeSoto, '81 Corvette, and the BMW X1 35i. She had even made preliminary plans to rent garage space for all of them... only to then find out she'd have to shell-out market-value in cash to get any of them. I was fortunate the attorney didn't fuck up listing the BMW 128i in the will.

#8, how does that even work? Attorney tried selling them?

#9, Because they weren't listed properly in the will, they would be required to be liquidated at auction or outright sold-off. They could not be "given away" or anything like that.

#10, Oh. That really sucks. I'm sorry to hear that. Not sure how I can articulate my feelings more.
