I hate these things. I hate the styling, I hate the concept, I hate the tall sides combined with the tiny little skateboard wheels, and I hate that Ford is forgoing all passenger cars other than the Mustang to produce them.

#1, Would it be fair to say the EcoSport is a modern-day Chevette? A cheap, dreary, cynical econobox from Brazil sold in America as a stopgap option to fill a gap in a carmaker's lineup?

#2, The comparison could be drawn, though the Ecosport is not cheap or economical enough to be as useful as the Chevette.

Chevrolet also notably didn't stop production of the Corvette, Malibu, Nova, Caprice/Impala, Monza, or Vega and just offer the Chevette, Camaro, and trucks.

Also, the Chevette was reliable. This isn't. I hate these as well. They drive okay, but man, the looks. It looks like, to the uninformed, that it would compete with the Mitsubishi Mirage. Not exactly praise there.

So, would it be right to add this to the list of worst cars currently on sale in America?

No particular order:

- Mitsubishi Mirage
- Nissan Versa (sedan)
- Fiat 500L
- Ford EcoSport
- Toyota Prius C

#5, I didn't think the Versa sedan I rented that time was all that horrible. It's cheap and simple, but fine for the price.

The current Mirage, on the other hand, I've never heard a single good thing about.

I wouldn't say the Ecosport is horrible. It drives fine. It has enough power for its size. It *does* look a bit odd in profile.

#5, Hmmm...

The 500L, EcoSport (which I still contend was garbage), and the Prius c are all out of production.

The Versa sedan apparently has become halfway decent with the onset of a new, refreshed generation, and being only one of two non-SUV/crossover subcompacts left on the market, I'll cut it some slack.

The Mirage is still atrocious and even more outdated with the passage of time.

So, I think the current list of worst cars currently on sale in America:

- Mitsubishi Mirage
- Dodge Hornet
- Tesla Cybertruck
- Fisker Ocean (if that can even be considered still "currently on sale"...)

I so desperately want to add the Jeep Gladiator and Wagoneer/Grand Wagoneer and any Maserati with more than two-doors to the list... but they're not really terrible, per se, just massively overpriced for what they are.

I have several friends who have Mirages and love them. They apparently autocross pretty well, and from what I've seen are dead-on reliable.

Regarding the Hornet, why not get a Tonale?
