Vaquero - Pros: Fellow co-worker has one, and lauds its comfort and highway stability. Cons: Would feel weird to have a damn-near identical bike as a co-worker, and its styling is a bit... pedestrian.

Eluder - Pros: Love the styling. One of the few Yamahas without stupid clear tallights. Cons: Air-cooled and no longer in production (though I'm planning on buying used anyway, but there's not many of these "out there")

Goldwing - Pros: Comfort, Honda reliability and durability. Cons: More "standard" riding position, and it'll be a hit to my ego that I'm old enough to now be riding a goddamn Goldwing. Also, the DCT automatic is a concern. Even though I don't know how to drive a manual car, I really, truly enjoy shifting my own motorcycle.

Now that I think about it, with the terrible corrosion problems in this area, maybe I should stick with an older bike. Heck, if I buy an older Goldwing with higher miles, it'll be way cheaper. It's not reliability and durability that will kill a bike down here, it's the air. That will affect an almost-new bike as it will one 10 years old.
