Description:
Williams BMW, close to the best F1 teams. They are supposed to win this year against
Ferrari, but if Schumacher of Ferrari stays the way he is, it'll be difficult, but maybe not
because Montoya is awesome competition.......... (Geist wanna talk about the money
issue on this?LOL) J/K man.

I'm not trying to discount anything in the caption of this pic, I just want to make sure I have it right that Mika's in a Mercedes.

Ah, okay. We don't get enough F1 coverage here to keep track.

Amazingly, it's actually easier to follow WRC here than it is F1.

Yeah, I did see that, but only because ESPN.com posted the video. Wild stuff.

Stupid stuff. Only 8 cars finished the race. 3 or something on the lead lap.

Crazy. That's what I don't like about open-wheel stuff, you always wind up with 7 cars on the lead lap and one 30 seconds up, not the nail-biter stuff you get in NASCAR and in touring car racing.

I like our tourning car class. The V8 supercars. The top ten qualifiers are always within about 1 second. As in car 1 and car 10 there is about 1sec between them and the other 8 cars are somewhere in that. One of the races the other day the top 20 were within that 1sec range. Now that is close.

That sounds exactly like NASCAR. But you guys run on road courses, right? NASCAR's on ovals, except for Sears Point and Watkins Glen. And what kind of cars do they run in Austrailian touring car racing?

F1s are faster, with better drivers. That's about all I know about the difference.

no f1s are not faster. F1s have 3L V10s rev to about 18000rpm produce about 900hp and weigh about 600kgs. Indy cars 2L V8s with turbo weigh more for the ovals so they stay on the black stuff. Indy cars have a higher top speed. F1s are faster round a track. So really it depends on your diffinitons of fast. For me fast is top speed. Oh and our V8 supercars are the holden commodore and the ford flacon.

Agreed on the "faster." But don't F1s accelerate faster? I know they brake so hard that teardrops get yanked out of your eyes and splattered on your helmet visor.
