I disagree (since I'm a prolific internet arguer). Arguing on the internet can be quite amusing and sometimes even educational. I've learned quite a bit from arguing on the internet. Flamewars (yUr m@m@ suX0rs, etc.) are retarded, though.

Argument is a means of discussion. If one has any form of social interaction on the internet, arguing will invariably be part of it. Therefore, arguing on the internet is no more retarded than having any other form of social interaction on the internet....including my making this post right now.
