OK, three things...

This is a 1954 Chrysler.
Secondly, this is NOT a 300M...the 300M nameplate didn't exist until the late '90s. This is a 300A.
Finally, no Chrysler production HEMI had more than 300 hp until 1956.

Actually this is a '55 Chrysler, the first year of the restyle. It was simply referred to as the 300, with the 300B following for 1956. The 1955 made 300 horsepower out of a 354 Hemi, in 1956 it was bumped to 355 horsepower (making it the first vehicle to make more than 1 hp per cubic inch).

#2, SHIT...you're right...I got my years all crossed up. My bad. But I knew this wasn't a '53. Eh, some people "like" to refer to the first 300 as a 300A (just as some people refer to the Dino as a "Ferrari Dino"...)

But I was right in my third statement, reworded, "The first year the Hemi had more than 300hp was 1956".

#3, I admit it...I call them Ferrari Dinos. Chances are, if you just said "Dino" (even to a hardcore Euro car enthusiast), it might take a moment for them to figure out what you're talking about.
