#1, ...and there should be a distinction made... NOT the Daimler of Daimler Benz fame, but the Daimler marque that was owned by Jaguar at the time.

#3, Nope. Two completely different companies. One was German and founded in the late 1800's, the other was British, and was basically Jaguar's super-ultra-high-class-limo division. It can get confusing.

I should update myself on this, Daimler does indeed still exist, and it is still owned by Jaguar (and if Jaguar is sold to Tata, obviously, Daimler will follow its parent-company away from Ford)

...and the Daimler name is still used on some very high-end Jaguars, carrying the name "Daimler Super Eight"...

This car could be either an early Daimler Sovereign or a DS420... or maybe another kind of Daimler, I'm not quite sure.
