Damn... is that a big engine or what? And it's only a 3.0l V6... o_O
The sign says:
"The unit is very big: when it is pulled from the car it really makes and impression"

...Alfa Romeo V6 engines come from another age... a passionate age, an age smelling of oil and gasoline. There's more to a great engine than sheer numbers: there's work, passion and ages of evolution. Today Alfa Romeo still has a wonderful V6. The 3.2 has all the characteristics of the classic Alfa sixes: it's raspy, aggresive and loves high revs. You feel 250hp under your foot, the needle passes 6.500rpm and the sculptured chrome, red and silver alloy beast roars at you... at such a moment, you know what Cuore Sportivo really means. |

It's the fact that it's DOHC....that always makes engines a bit bulkier, especially V-block engines. If you look closely, the block itself isn't really that big, but the heads are bloody huge.
#1, That really hit the nail on the head. I like Alfa's philosophy on engine building; I wish all automakers subscribed to it. |
