This thing was obvioulsy built to compete with the Aztek for that elusive market share of drivers who's eyes don't bleed at the sight of either one |

Okay. Broncos, Blazers, Suburbans and the like always looked good. Then the Explorer came out. Not my cup of tea, but nicely styled. Ford's got attractive SUVs, the Suburban STILL looked good, the Durango looks BADASS... then what the hell happened? Assvalanche, Asstek, VehiCROSS, Vibe. Whatever happened to styling? |

Not to mention the fact that 85% wont see a dirt road or even a rock. Putting the designer interiors into it then slapping a higher price tag on a vehicle that already cost too much and if it went off road it would get stuck. Sad Really. |

oh yeah. I would have trouble buying a truck where they only painted the top half. If I'm gonna pay $30k+ for a truck, the least they can do is paint the whole truck. |

I'd take a military issue off road, that way I don't have to worry about chipping the high gloss paint |

We took our Explorer off road once, result? Stripped 4X4 hubs which Ford said were not covered under drivetrain warranty, it's better to leave some of them on the pavement |

I don't offroad, even though I drive a truck. reason? 4wd is too expensive for my blood. I'd use it, but not enough to justify the extra cost. oh, and I've heard the Ford-stripped hubs story a lot. actually most of the serious offroaders I know have adapted GM front axles because of it. |

Old school 4x4 is the way to go. Old land cruiser put a new donk (motor) in it and away you go. |
