Description:
I've mentioned the shop up the road from me several times, as well as the owner's extensive collection of junked cars (especially VWs). However, apart from his '69 Chevelle, I've never posted any pics of the place. Well, here they are. A ton of crappy but interesting photos are to follow. |

some cool pictures man. Sounds like a cool/creepy place. Tempo pic doesnt work for me though. The "Tuff Truck" would appear to be factory. I remember a silver one from when I was little. |

Rounding out the tour....
An Olds Omega plays peek-a-boo from under a tree. I can't remember the last time I saw one of these on the road.

The "Row of the forgotten"....cars repaired that have never been retrieved by the owners. The orange type III back there has been there since 1993, the gold Escort since 2004, the red VW Fox since 1999. The white Eclipse is currently undergoing repair, likely won't get left here. The 1960 Chevy Apache is Tim's, he drove it into a creek in 1995 and has never bothered putting it back on the road.

Old Detroit iron from a better-kept section of the yard. Whynot Speedway, recently reopened, is in the background. Tim was a champion there in it's heyday, and his son Kyle is the current top driver.

BTW, in the main picture, that's my old Peugeot parked between the shop and the fence. Tim bought it off of me nearly a year ago with the intentions of getting it running and never did anything with it. Likely it will be sucked into the gaping maw of his boneyard, joining all the other lost metallic souls.
I wondered just recently if ten years from now some dippy college kid will get a part-time job at the shop and jump on the Peugeot's rear bumper, or take photos of it to post online. |

#10, The orange type III Volkswagen wagon I mentioned in #8. Behind that is the row of "current" cars that are next in line for repair. This line-up changes frequently, although I photographed a couple of them and will be submitting them as separate "Car" and "Truck" pictures in just a moment. |

#11, That's wierd. I have never thought about that. I wonder if my kids will take a picture for the internet with the caption "one of dad's old cars, a 1997 Monte Carlo, and the truck in the background he got when he was 16, a 1998 Dodge Ram. You don't see those on the road much anymore; word has it the transmissions were crap." |

Since these photos were taken, he's actually sold the Karmann Ghia, and the Isuzu "Tuff Truk" has disappeared as well.
A yellow 1973 Cougar on the "Row of the forgotten" that had been parked since 1989 (never photographed it) was also picked up out of the blue by its owner about two years ago....naturally 18 years had done some damage to the car, but he was apparently ready to do something with it. Also, the gold Escort wagon I photographed was picked up by its owner after three or four years. |
