How exactly does changing the grille from eggcrate to mesh make it easier to clean? Seems to me it's like going from 5-spoke wheels to a BBS-style lace pattern for the sake of 'easier cleaning'. The holes are smaller and much more numerous, and it just doesn't make sense to me. Maybe it's because if you can't see the crud in the grille bars you can wash just the mesh and forget about anything that got past it. Oh well.
