"But Gremlins are quirky, and anyone who wants one will want it to be a kooky as possible!"
That's the sort of thinking that made the Wheeler Dealers Pacer episode such a failure. |

#6, Oh God, that's potentially the worst one they ever did, in terms of how they "upgraded"/modified it.
Been rewatching a lot of WD episodes lately, actually. Though, only the Edd era.
Some of the episodes, that dealt with a relatively rare car, or the one that Mike "finds" has a very unique problem to tackle, or is in a very interesting selling situation, I get the impression that some of those episodes, they began knowing ahead of time exactly which car they were going to buy... and then "frame" the episode around that, and have him do a "dog and pony show" of looking for that kind of car.
Though, admittedly, the Bentley Mulsanne Turbo episode really did feel "off the cuff"... I think he genuinely was looking for a Rolls, and that Bentley falling into his lap as an option was too good to pass up.
It's also been confirmed that the Suzuki Samurai was, by far, the worst vehicle they ever tried to fix up, and they paid the price, literally. Brewer noted the filming for that season was coming to a close, and they had run out of ideas. The Samurai was a last-minute scramble episode, and the truck was just an unmitigated hunk of junk. |

#7, Spending several thousands of dollars on that goofy glow-in-the-dark wrap, when potential Pacer buyers would have been more satisfied with a simple repaint in the factory color....I just couldn't wrap my head around that.
I'm not sure I ever saw the Samurai episode. |
