The Galaxie had its own badge mounted in the same place that year, too. Does seem a little odd to put it -there-, but Ford had a habit of putting front make/model badges off-center on a number of models back then (i.e. the '80-88 LTD/CVs and the '86-96 Escort GT).

#2, Not that strange... hell, most of Toyota's JDM models each have their own bespoke badge on the front.

IIRC, the Ford oval badges on the early Rangers/Bronco IIs wasn't centered either
