I remember reading once that most of the time when you see a beige '59 Ranger with black interior and a 6 cylinder, it means it was a former rental car....apparently, several were delivered in that specification to companies like Hertz, and the configuration in question is well-known among Edsel afficionados.

It does seem to have the correct level of austerity. I'll bet it had blackwall tires originally, too.

I drove alongside this car through town after leaving the show and was impressed by how quiet it was. These things really do sound like a sewing machine when they run.
