Description:
It may be a crappy photo, but it's a crappy photo of my newly acquired vehicle.

74k, all them luxuries, twin scroll equipped V6 boost machine, and the color is Aluminum. Picked it up for 1k less then the base 4 cyl sportcombis I had found.

Fiance wanted a Caliber. Drove it and hated it. Found this in the corner of the lot. Stroke of pure luck.

I think I'm more excited about the seat and mirror memory then anything else.

Thing is a blast to drive.

Thanks man. Pulled the trigger quick on it. They're hard to find.

Whoa, nice.

So, uh... when are you going to track/autoX it? *runs*

Probably not autoX but I will take it to the strip.

#5, Having properly drag raced only once in my life I don't have too much experience but I did find it rather boring. Then again, when you pit a turbodiesel Peugeot vs. SOHC Civic things are not going to be very exciting (two runs and I was out).

#7, You have to talk to old timers and make it an experience. The fun part is the stories you hear.

I also ran my Taurus against a rail car once.

It's an auto. Fiancee can't drive stick and it will be the trip car so it'll see traffic. It's got the controls on the steering wheel for manual mode though.

Looks like you did pretty well. Hell, I'd sport it.

As for racing, I tried for years to get my dad to sign off on running our Regal GS in the run-what-you-brung drags at Infineon Raceway, but he didn't think the transmission could handle it. The car was more than enough of a match for my uncle's 400 small block '64 Malibu though. The '71 GMC is still an awesome autoX vehicle, I like to run it at least once a year if I can. I would also like to autoX my 6K at least once if we can get it together and reliable someday.

The best thing is that now you're 100% justified in blasting something like this at top volume while rolling through quiet residential areas:
Thor! Odin's son
Protector of mankind
Ride to meet your fate
Your destiny awaits
Thor! Hlödyn's son
Protector of mankind
Ride to meet your fate
Ragnarök awaits

#10, Oh god. I didn't even think about all of the Thor related awesomeness.

Is it only the manual transmission ones, or do you have to put the automatic in reverse before removing the key as well?

Can only remove the "key" in park.

Fun fact: manual has an illustrated page dedicated to putting two loaded golf bags in the trunk of a convertible.

Fiance wants me to get a Swedish plate that says EFINSWEDE

Not sure if want

On a side note i saw a vanity plate on an older 9-3 that said "KMO SBEE" made me chuckle.

#16, I saw a vanity plate the other day (and it was on the FRONT and BACK, so I know it was legit) that said "SCHE155"

The dirty-word filter at the DMV fell asleep on THAT one, I'll tell ya. Can't believe it got through.

#17, I would have expected that in a region with a lot of people of German descent that would have been caught quickly.
