Apparently this has become more common in recent years: http://www.kelsey-forums.co.uk/cgi-...?num=1295122811 - I've also found evidence of a 1972 Plymouth wagon and a Mk1 Ford Granada (the latter owned by a writer for Practical Classics magazine, which is frequently a target of derision among bangers due to their stance against the sport) that were also stolen and destroyed similarly.

Worst of all, the bangers seem to like to gloat about it, thinking they're "striking back" at vintage car hobbyists for "threatening" the banger hobby.

I have nothing kind to say on the subject of banger racers. Stealing cars for the purpose is even more shameful and disgusting.
