The one next to it is the one of the shop's most award-winning restorations... they apparently did a '56 DeSoto as one of their first projects, and it turned out so well, several other '56 DeSoto owners sent their cars to them, including my uncle, obviously.

I don't imagine that's what they *intended* to specialize in, but, hey, I'm sure it gets easier with each one.

Perhaps I jumped the gun... at this point, it was aesthetically done... but the mechanicals still needed work.

Better pictures, now that my uncle finally has it delivered at his house.

Looking at that Adventurer, I have to wonder; why didn't Nascar teams use DeSotos? From what I understand, the Adventurer was just about as high-performance as the C-300/300B. Heck, some of those teams even used Dodge D-500s at various points, but almost never DeSotos.
