#20, ...and any other taut, aesthetically pleasing hatchback that is hacked into a sedan-shape for the American and/or Indian market... it's shocking how common, and ugly, it is. 85016

#21, yep. I hope Mazda doesn't bring that here. :( I'd say the new Mazda 3 falls into that category as well. I don't like how big the front is compared to the rest of the car. It's almost like the hatch was supposed to be a wagon, but they said fuck it, and made it small.

...and when I say "designed for foreign markets"... I'm pretty much excluding India and non-Japan/Korea Asia (re: Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, China, etc)... the new Mirage is a right mess... and they only cheapened it up further when they brought it over.

#23, well yeah, I gathered that. :) I do think the Dacia Duster brought over as a Nissan Terrano or (use the Navara name) would be awesome. I like those little things. Saw a BUNCH when I was in Europe. If they were available here, that's likely what I would be driving.

#24, Yeah, Dacia's an exception... it's cheap... but it's not pretending to be anything else... so no money was wasted on fake "niceties"... all money was put into them being decent, no-frills cars.

A Dacia would most likely pique my interest, as well, if they were available here.

Unfortunately, they'd never come here, as marketers always consider the lowest-common-denominator in a country... and Americans are suckers for fake. A boring, honest cheap car would never sell well here. Damn shame.

#25, I say the Duster mainly because I've always liked it (and no, I didn't jump on the OMGDuster parade started by Top Gear), and because its a cheap 4X4, its a car that would be awesome in the winter. A Logan would be a good city car, and even the Dacia MPV (I forget the name at the moment) seems like a good idea for lower-income families. Bring them over here as the new "cheap car" brand like Hyundai and Kia were, and price them $5,000 under everyone else, and them watch sales soar.

It worked for the Koreans, so it could work for them too.

#26, Y'know... I could see a new brand being developed, specifically for the American market... sell them through Nissan dealerships under the brand name "Roma"... it would sound Italian, but in reality be a reference to their TRUE nation of origin :P

#26, They have a few MPVs now... the Logan MCV, Lodgy, and Dokker.

#27, HAHAHAHA

The Nia would be a compact car, the Nian would be a 4x4 (equivalent of the Duster), and the Ieu would be a smaller, city car. A people mover would be called a Trajan.

#28, The Lodgy is the one I'm thinking of. I saw a bunch in France. Dokkers were fairly common too, after looking them up.
