#2, Wow. Big leap. Only benefit I see is a quieter cabin and smoother drive. Other than that, you're right. Lotta downside to this. Still, I can understand him wanting to not give his wife a kia soul if he can afford a GLK. |

#3, I don't like this. I could've got one of these, too, but..
Letsee..
In my $18k budget, I looked at:
Buick Regal CX/CXL
Ford Focus SE/SE/SEL (couldn't find a color I liked that wasn't either a rebuilt wreck or had shady history)
Ford C-Max (I got lucky, because it was one of four in the area)
Mazda 3
Mazda 6
Volkswagen Tiguan (yeah, DSG, no thanks)
Dog couldn't fit in the sedans, and hated getting into the Focus :( so..
C-Max it was :) |

I like it so far.
Back to the "truck" at hand. I don't see the point of these. They're (as DiRF said) extremely cramped, get awful mileage (even for their size), not all that fast, and have less room than even a C-class. |

Given the lemon that the C-Max was, I shudder to think how a GLK would've fared. |
