Perfect car for Mike Brewer to buy cheap, Edd to fix the suspension with a 50p component, then resell at a 2000£ profit :P

#1, XD.

They might next season :P. They've already done a Boxster, and a TT so why not this, too?

#2, That "50p" part of my post was in reference to the TT they did... incredible... he probably got it for a couple grand under what it was worth because of one. sheared. bolt.

#3, I was gonna ask if it was in reference to that, but I didn't wanna be wrong and sound dumb. :/ Amazing what people will throw away. :/

#3, Reminds of the 44k-mile mint-condition Celebrity I saw some years ago that was scrapped because of one $2 sensor somebody overlooked.

#4, Now, granted, all the labor Edd did just to get TO the transmission and crack it open was immense... a mechanic probably would have charged close to four figures in labor costs alone.

#6, I hope the part cost listed does include SOME cost for Edd. Always wondered if they split it 50/50.

#7, Cost of labor is NEVER factored in... I remember one of their earliest episodes entailed basically replacing/fabricating 50% of the body of a rusted-out Mini...

#8, I thought about it. I had to realize its a TV show. He gets paid from the show + residuals.

#8, Many has been the time where myself and/or my Dad have been deep in some rebuild project, and encountered a 10-day setback we didn't expect (part that's hopelessly rusted fast, breaks when you try to remove it, and it's no longer made by anyone so you have to fabricate one yourself) and have blithely remarked "You know on a TV show, THIS is where the do a commercial break and come back like nothing happened, when in reality, they sent in their minions of mechanics to remove it and sent it to a professionally staffed CNC-machining firm to use as the blank for a new one from titanium to be made"

#10, Do you and your dad have tense, scripted swearing arguments that must be bleeped out, or only real ones? :P

#11, No that often, we're not very fond of swearing, getting CREATIVE is more prized:

"you know, one of these days I'll buy a used car the previous owner DIDN'T try to rewire.."

"Where's the kaboom? THere was supposed to be an earth-shattering KABOOM!"

"Is it SAE or metric?" "It's the one you'll hand me the wrong wrench for first, so I dunno, pick your poison"

"Consarn it"

"And WHO in the engineering department thought THIS setup was a good idea?"

"Wanna take this part up to the kitchen to clean it? Or is mom still pissed at me for the last time I made the house smell like gasoline?"

"Time to get the flame wrench"

"Well, the bad news is, it didn't fit, good news? You have a spare"
