The roominess, the economy, the rock-solid build quality and reliability... and they're not anonymous-looking... they are very distinctive, for better or worse. (I love 'em, but that's highly subjective) Local taxi companies pretty much buy up all the used ones that pop on the market. These things were always a travesty - and stood out negatively instead of on the balance of their perceived 'uniqueness' of their appearance. Taxi companies here would sooner a hybrid Camry than an xB. They have the room - the economy - the storage - the reliability - but they don't look vulgar - and if they have to have the taxi stand out - theres always vinyl wraps.
