Description:
God help me, but I think the most-recent Chevrolet Sonic was actually a pretty damned handsome subcompact. In my subjective opinion, they did a good job incorporating some of the best styling cues of the bigger cars from their lineup.

They really don't seem bad. I seriously considered ordering one in sporty trim with a manual at one point.

#1, My appreciation for them is purely aesthetic. Underneath, it's still a decade-old Aveo platform.

Oddly enough, I like the pre-facelift version more. These just seem bland. :/

#3, Those were good, too. Very distinctive headlights, without being horrendously ugly. The grill(s) and "centered" bowtie emblem haven't aged all that well, though.

#2, Oddly enough, I sort of consider it the closest thing to a classic Mini.

#5, A lightweight, true 4-seater with minimal footprint... yeah, I can see that.

I think my favorite feature of these is the gauge cluster and the "hidden" rear door handles.

I think what drew these to me, aesthetically, was the fact they didn't go for "cutesy"/exaggerated styling, which was very refreshing in the subcompact/citycar market.

It was handsome styling, scaled appropriately proportionate for the size.
