God help me, I sat in a '24 UX250h for the hell of it, and it was an extremely pleasant surprise. With the '25 MY bringing more power and quicker acceleration, plus this really pretty copper color, I may seriously consider trading in both the Mazda and BMW towards one.

Do you think it's worth the $10k premium though?

#2, Did the interior of the UX I sat in feel like it was worth $10k more? Yes. Yes it did.

Another hang-up I had with the CX-30 Turbo was, aside from being cramped as all hell inside*, it has surprisingly low fuel economy. I can regularly get 40mpg with my CX-3, if I drive carefully, but that would be a pipe dream with the CX-30 Turbo. This thing supposedly can do well over 40mpg in everyday driving.

Yes, there's an acceleration trade-off, and I imagine the CVT won't be as engaging, but the reviews I've seen of this thing, particularly with the F-Sport handling package, is that it's surprisingly dynamic to drive. ...and at the end of the day, 0-60 in 7.9 seconds is plenty quick. Faster than my CX-3, though just a tick behind the 128i.

*The top of the CX-30's windshield was damn near at my forehead. One test I do in every car I've ever test-driven, I set the driver's seat for my 6' frame (long torso, relatively short legs), and then see if I can fit comfortably in the backseat behind. CX-30, NO. UX, very much so... and my head didn't hit the ceiling in the back of the UX. Admittedly, its sunroof is a bit more oldschool, opening over TOP of the roof, but that most likely contributes to the rear seat headroom.

#3, I also test drove an NX. The interior didn't seem to "fit me" as well, and the backseat didn't feel any bigger. The only reason I toyed with looking at the NX was because it has a plug-in hybrid version with even faster acceleration... however, the dealer informed me they only get a handful of PHEVs in stock every year, regardless of model, and they get snapped up almost immediately. I don't want to get into a bidding war and wind up with a car that's not exactly what I want.

Oh no, I just realized, duh... I should check out a Corolla Cross Hybrid. Same powertrain, same acceleration, way cheaper and readily available.

But do I really want to drive a Corolla?!

#4, Maybe it's just because I don't keep close tabs on the new car market anymore, but when I read "I test drove an NX...."

#6, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lexus_NX

Essentially a fancy RAV4.

#5, I like the Corolla Cross, and I have the same conundrum. I also like the Corolla hatch, too.

Honestly, I never gave the NX or UX much though. TBH I don't care for the styling, but if you like it, go for it. That being said, if I were to get a new Toyota family vehicle that I could afford, it would have to be a Corolla Cross despite the name. I like the styling, and I like the colors it comes in.

Oh, Toyota dealers, maintaining continuity.

I went to a local dealership, parked my car and walked up, and several sales personnel were milling around, not even looking at me. I finally approached one, inquiring to look at a car, "Oh, all the ones on the lot are unlocked, feel free to look yourself." ...and walked away from me.

After not being able to find any of the eight Corolla Cross Hybrids that their site listed as being "in stock", nor any Prius amongst the seven that were listed in stock, I inquired further with a different sales person, and, without even checking anything, they just said, "Oh, we don't have any of those." ...and, again, walked away from me.

Disappointed that Toyota dealers are still giant steaming piles of shit. It never changes with them. I *may* try another Toyota dealership that's closer to where I work on my way home tomorrow, as I really want to see what the interior of the Corolla Cross hybrid and Prius feels like.

#9, Odd, I've had the exact opposite. Both time I went, I was hounded until I finally said fuck it, and left. :/ I looked at a 2019 Rav4 when they were new and HOLY SHIT the salespeople wouldn't leave me alone. Then, about a week after I got the Kona, a Toyota person called, I told them I had just bought a Kona, and they asked, "Oh, okay. Would you like to trade it in? It would be our first pre-owned Kona."

No, asshole.

#10, Oh, I've had Toyota dealers swing that other direction as well. Once had one tried to block me in and prevent me from leaving when I refused to buy an overpriced, stripped-out used Corolla that had an underside caked in rust. He came to my window and screamed, "You'll NEVER find a better deal than this!"

Whichever way it swings, I've never had an actual pleasant experience at a Toyota dealer. Neither has my mom, dad or sisters. We've all been treated horribly at Toyota dealers every single time.

My one sister who had the xB, she simply was stubborn enough to put up with the Toyota dealer's bullshit because she was determined that's the car she wanted.

Checked out a Corolla Cross Hybrid... the interior was surprisingly nice, almost on par with its RAV4 bigger brother.

The front end is a bit ungainly, though. Their attempt to give the hybrid a unique grill was a terrible effort, IMO.

I realize it's all subjective, with many hating the Lexus Predator grill (myself included, in many cases), but I think it works on this car, as the proportions are so small.

#12, Why not the non-Hybrid CC?

#13, Worse fuel economy and 2 seconds slower to 60mph.

The CX-3 does 0-60 in 8.5 seconds. That is my threshold. If I'm going to invest in a new car, it will not be slower than my current car.

The copper is already used on some larger Lexuses, and I saw some wearing it at the dealership. It's not exactly as it appears in photos... it's more rosegold than "copper", but I'm ok with it. I think I've been driving black cars for long enough.

Though, if I can't get copper, I guess I'll go with black again :P

The Lexus dealers really are stringing me along... the '25s are arriving, but none with the "Handling" package...

Got an "out of left field" idea... the new Acura Integra. It's narrow, it's quick and handles well, has a modicum of luxury, and are in much larger supply. If driven carefully, they even get reasonably decent mileage.

Checked one out at a dealership, and I didn't hit my head getting in, unlike the CX-30, and the interior layout and ergonomics are very pleasing. Prior Hondas always seemed a bit strange to me.
