#2, Interestingly, the 924 variant of that engine produced slightly more power. The idea of a 924-swapped Gremlin has actually crossed my mind....at least as an interesting project for a hypothetical complete masochist with unlimited pocket depth.

#3, Something that's crossed my mind recently, because of that VW "van engine"... the engines out there that powered a surprisingly diverse swath of vehicles...
The Rover KV6 which was used in various Rovers and MGs, of course, but also the Land Rover Freelander, Gibbs Aquada, and the first-generation Kia Carnival/Sedona.
The PRV V6 that powered everything from Volvos, Peugeots, Renaults, Citroƫn, Alpines, my dad's Dodge Monaco, to the DeLorean...
Of course, American V8s from the '50s through the present day were used in anything and everything around the world... and I include the Buick-derived Rover V8 in that notion... |
