#2, They're a very nice alternative to tri-five Chevys.

I kinda have an aversion to "common" classic cars. I respect them, I acknowledge that they're nice... but I'm not particularly drawn to them. Tri-five Chevys, 2-seater Thunderbirds, Ford Model As and their immediate V8 successors, most late '60s GM muscle cars (with the possible exception of the Buick GSX)... they're just overexposed.

An unusual thing I recently found out about Pontiacs of this era: They were one of the only non-convertible American cars available with full leather upholstery. Even Cadillac at this time only used full leather on their convertible models, with other models offering (at the most) leather/cloth blends.

#4, Crazy to think that nowadays even many relatively entry-level compacts and subcompacts can be optioned with full leather interiors.
