Isn't there someone on this site who constantly posts about an early '80s Diesel Rabbit? Anyways, you know what Rabbit stands for? "Replace A Beetle? Boy, It Tried."

Hey! That's my car! What the hell?

Yeah, the rabbit tried hard to replace the Beetle. Doesn't have the look or the originality or anything, but hey, at least the sucker gets 45mpg. Reliable transit.

Mine is by far better, and sexier.

It's a 2 door.

Diesel cars always have those attractive sooty gunk deposits on their rear ends, why they were ever popular, I dunno

'Cause it was the early '80s, there was a gasoline crisis in both '73 and '79, and everyone was looking for alternative fuels. Most of those diesel cars weren't so bad, but anyone who has experience with the GM diesel V8....Gah, what a stinker (literally and figuratively).

I saw Escort 1.9 TDi's all the time this summer, as well as Polo TD's and BMW M3 SDi's.
