And if the engine and transmission from this truck had been put in a RWD station wagon, it would have had just as much room inside, and would've been faster. Plus more efficient.

Oh, I'm not saying I don't like it...well, I don't like the headlight covers or chrome wheels, but it's one bad-assed SUV.

In a related note from our last mass posting on the Cutlass, what happened to all the good car songs? They dont' write many anymore, guess it's hard to get worked up over Taurus' and Geos huh?

The most recent really, really good car song I know of was "Superbird" and that came out in like '94.

As a musician, I think I'm going to go write a bunch of songs about how much rice sucks.

I've got a bunch of mp3.s here on my 'puter (including hot rod lincoln) that I want to compile into a drivin' music CD for this summer, so I'm looking for any good ones. Naturaly, I also have one of Jerry Reeds songs on there, guess what it is? go on, guess :-)

Some local band here did a cover of "Ice Ice Baby" called "Rice Rice Baby" that was entirely dedicated to making fun of them.

My Geo wound down and started to cry...
I wanted to accelerate, and boy did I try...
But that damn 3 banger sucks, my-oh-my...

How's that for a modern "car song"?

Make sure to get Cake's "The Distance" on that CD. I don't know if you technically want to consider it a car song, but it's fantastic driving music.

yep, that's why I switched from rock to country a couple years ago, some of that stuff is great for driving music. Especially Aaron Tippin's "Kiss this goodby" when your idling at a red light

I suppose a sort of car song would be "The Distance" by cake. it's about racing. also, Stickshifts and Saftey Belts is car related. Oh yeah, and "Satan is My Motor." Those are all cool songs.

And Rob Zombie... "Dragula," "Thunder Kiss '65," "Supercharger Heaven," "Never Gonna Stop" and "Black Sunshine" are all actually car songs.

I drive to ACDC a lot. Hard rock goes well with how I drive. It works especially well in a pickup truck hauling unholy amounts of ass.
