No, the keyboard isn't usually there when I type, I lean back in the chair with the keyboard in my lap...I find it really comfortable that way.

EVERYTHING you see here is at least 5 years old, except for the IBM mouse, which is about 3 years old.

Damn, this is even more cluttered than the setup I have here.

You might have a little more room if you moved those lamps.

#3, This picture is a tad old...(about half a year) That big lamp on the left is gone, and a smaller lamp is in its place. You have to remember, those two lamps are the ONLY light in the room. (The room is cluttered with other stuff too. It's the guest room/storage room for my house)

#7, Radiation? What the devil are you talking about? *grows third arm*

Anywho, you can thank Wal*Mart for the rainbow effect in the image... this pic was taken by a disposable camera, developed at Wally*World where I opted for the image CD... not the best way to get a digital image, but it's better than my OTHER way (Polariod camera and a scanner)

Anywho... the monitor and printer are now gone. I'm still holding onto the PC itself, 'till I finally figure out a cost-effective way to get all the files from it to my new computer. The speakers and mouse that came with my eMachines were crap, so I'm still using the speakers and mouse seen in this picture.

you can do it for free easily if you have an available slot on your IDE cable(s). if not you need to drop maybe $10 on an IDE cable that'll allow dual connections

edit: after that you'll want to plug the hard drive into the new computer, so you'll connect the IDE cable (the gray cable) and the power. they should only go in one way.

#12, Wow...I feel old now. My first printer was an Okidata dot-matrix printer that would take a long fucking time to print ONE page of text (and, of course, it was ONLY black and white)

Funny how things come full circle, as I'm seriously considering *another* Acer Aspire desktop...

This one can be put on its side, too, rather than being limited to being a tower.

#17, That computer, versus my brand new laptop...

Processor: 200MHz - 2600MHz (I believe mine was a slightly different model, with a 233mhz Pentium II)
RAM: 16mb - 32,000mb (+2000mb graphics-dedicated)
Storage: 2GB (Mine also had a second, 5GB HDD) - 2000GB (half of that being SSD)
Network card: 33.6kbps (though, I'm pretty sure mine had a 56k card) - 1,300,000kbps
Screen: 15" 4:3, 800x600 CRT - 17" 16:9, 1920x1080

#17, It's all about the Pentiums, baby.

My first PC was a hand-me-down 33Mhz Intel 386 tower running Windows 3.1 with a 13" or 15" CRT monitor. I used to play "Putt-Putt Goes to the Moon" on it (which oddly enough is now available on Steam) http://store.steampowered.com/app/294650/ Gives you a clue how young I was at the time.
I still vaguely remember having to learn to type the DOS extensions to play any game that wasn't Windows Reversi and got so frustrated when I'd get "Bad Command or File Name".
My first printer was some old Panasonic dot-matrix job that I used until middle school when it was retired for an Epson 640 color inkjet printer that is now long gone.
There was a 266Mhz Pentium II Windows 98 PC to replace the 386 relic, then a Dell Celeron with XP and a homebuilt Pentium 4 with XP around '06. In '08 I got a MacBook Pro for college and in '09 I got the HP Vista laptop I still use daily.
