This is nice, DAMN nice. However: I don't think those wheels were available on a '66, and correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think there were any '66 Shelby convertibles. One helluva nice replica, though, to be sure.

I'm curious... are Mustangs rare in Australia? I know that Holden and Ford Australia built their own musclecars, like the Monaro and the Falcon. But did you get American cars, like the Mustang and Camaro, too?

Well speaking of which I saw one hell nice camaro the other night. Not so much mustangs but most of the other cars are rare as feathers on turtle. But nice mustangs are rare. As are the GT350 it is and the GT500 (im not sure I think thats what they are called the cool ones) There are 2 orginal GT350s in all of Australia. I have seen one of them.

maybe i'm wrong, but I always thought the falcon GT or something was basically a mustang with different trim bits and right hand drive. I always thought so because of the similarity of the '73 Mustang Fastbacks to the 73 Falcon GTs or whatever. Because I read about how to build your own mad max interceptor, and the guy said you can do it just fine with a mustang, you just need some Falcon trim bits, like the hood.

No, the whole shape of the car is different. It's closer to the shape of a Torino than a Mustang.

I've only seen one of this generation Mustang on the road, so they're pretty rare outside of car shows in the States too, but I live in a wet climate area where not many of these cars survive for long outside of thier garages, winter weather, rainy springs, road salt, etc. it' will KILL a car fast

Yeah ok I have looked at 3773 so whats a number of the model mustang you are talking about. I think its mainly the back end that is the same.

Hell yeah. In texas they're almost disposable there's so many. Of course, most of them are 6 cylinders, but that's nothing a crate engine won't fix.

Nope, I've only ever seen 1 pre 70' mustang and 1 first gen Camaro around here, but I live in a richy richy college town, everyone is SUV crazy, and all the college kids are ricers, except for the occasional new 'stang or 4th gen F-body

Well, if you ever want one, come down here and take your pick. Strangely, 65-66s are a lot easier to find than anything else, I think... 67-68s seem rarer, and 69-73 'Stangs are very, very hard to find.

We do have nice 69 stangs but thats about where it ends. Nextdoors son-inlaw had one. The nicest mustang I have ever seen blown V8 etc. Then one day the handbrake failed as it was parked and it ran about 70-100m and hit a brick mailbox. The single sadest sight I have ever seen.
