Christopher Stricklin ejects from the USAF Thunderbirds number six aircraft less than a second before it impacted the ground at an air show at Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho in September 2003. This guy is a friggin HERO. I'm sure most people would be "what the hell, I gotta get out of this mechanical asshole before it kills me." The fact that he risked his own life to make sure the crowd was safe shows just what a great person he is. Great pic by the way.

#3, A great British pilot (can't remember his name though... and I should as I won a t-shirt with him on the day of his death) died a couple of years back because he tried to save a Spitfire he was piloting. Can you say LOVE? |
