blah i bootched something the addy is
http://wasdsucks.com
also
http://zboard.com

It comes with 2 keysets, a standard keyboard & the gaming keyboard. Other keysets
are available and come pre-programmed for other games. You can map the keys if you want and i think it will accept up to 8 simultaneous keypresses at once.

Pricing is about $50.00, its pretty rugged no cheap parts on it.
The gaming keyboard took about 20 minutes to get used to but my god it rules.

#2, Be careful with saitek stuff, I bought a Saitek X-36 joystick/throttle combo for Descent3 and it wouldnt let you combine certian button combinations, I.E. you couldnt strafe left and use the afterburner and turn all at the same time, you also couldnt roll and shoot at the same time. I bought a cheaper USB Saitek stick about a year later and it had the same problem.

I think there was a workaround where you could turn on interlacing or something but then it just alternated between the two buttons pressed, I.E. Roll for a half second, shoot, roll for a half second, shoot. Extremely annoying....

I finally ended up putting them both in the closet and bought a MS Sidewinder Force Feedback (which I wore out the hat switch on 3 of them)

The sidewinder worked great, would let you combine any number of button presses at once but it wore out fast. (by fast i mean lasted less than 6 mo's)

#2, I also have a MS Strategic commander which I love for RTS Games, starcraft, warcraft etc. But it has the same drawback as the sidewinder, ive worn out 2 of the programmable buttons on the first one. The second one I haven't really had a problem with.

#3, I heard it's pretty sturdy, I'm guessing it should be good. Plus it costs about $40.

Mine was 49.99 + tax, I looked at the Saitek at best buy, the backlighting looks really good too. Don't get me wrong im not knocking the saitek KB, make sure you can use multiple keypresses before your return period wears out :P

*edit*
The saitek products i've owned were always very sturdy and well built, much much more than the microsoft ones. But the functionality and ability to press more than 1 button at a time was what made me switch to the MS over it. Had the either saitek worked like it shoulda I'd still be using it.

Just looking at this makes my head hurt. Using this thing would be like learning how to type all over again.

#7, The one in the above picture is the gaming keyset for first person shooters, ie quake/unreal/etc. Usually when one playes these games they either use the arrow keys, to navigate or the W A S D keys, wasd is usually prefered because there are more buttons within easy reach for more complex games. Ie Battlefield 1942 that has alot more controls than say quake. The FPS keyset is laid out so that the most common controls are easy to reach. The keysets are interchangable so if you arent playing a shooter or just want to type you can have a normal layout...

If you visit the above link it shows what you get in the box as well as the standard keyset.

I bought this one. It'll look great next to the plasma Razer Diamondback I ordered from them also.
