There are cases where form follows function, and some cases where function follows form...

...but in this case, form = function :D

I actually have the McLaren book, Driving Ambition. It's this huge coffee table book detailing every aspect of the McLaren from design on paper to all it's various incarnations. I haven't had a chance to really read it but there is a ton of interesting information in there. I'd definitely recommend picking it up if you have any interest in the car.

#2, I'll have to get that sometime in the future. I have a book about that size, but it has info on exotics, classics and sports cars up to 1994 I believe.

#2, I also have that book. It cost nearly $100 but it's entirely worth it. Amazing photography, insight and interviews with EVERYBODY important involved with the car, from Murray to Nick Mason. You should see the hacked together Ultima based prototypes, insane! The McLaren emblem embossed carbon fiber weave is even the lining pattern for the book, it's a quality piece.
